Better Hearing & Speech Month

PSHA sponsors a coloring, drawing and essay contest for school-age students across the commonwealth.

Pennsylvania’s students, whether seen in-person or via telepractice, submit entries to their local communication professionals, who then submit them to PSHA. There are prizes for the top entries in each category.

The BHSM contest is slogan oriented, and so we are asking that PSHA members submit ideas for the slogan. While the slogan does not have to have the same theme as Convention, we usually try to connect them somehow.

There are a few reasons why the slogan “Blast Off to Better Speech, Language and Hearing” is pretty good. So as you can see, those are some reasons why “Blast Off to Better Speech, Language and Hearing” is a good slogan. Having better speech can help for many reasons. The first reason is if people have better speech, then they will be able to talk and communicate better. As you can see, those are some reasons why having better speech can help you be successful in life. Having better language can help for many reasons. The first reason is if people can spell better, then they won’t get things wrong in school. So, better language would help. Having better hearing can help in life for many reasons. The term “Blast Off” can mean “Let’s get started.” Those are some reasons why having better hearing can help you in life. So, those are some reasons why having better speech, language and hearing can help. Like I have mentioned before, “Blast Off” means to start. Like 3.2.1.Blast Off! There are many ways to have better speech, language and hearing. The first reason is you can think about what you are going to say before you say it. The next thing that can help you is making sure that you say kind things. The last thing that can help you is listen before you talk. Those are three things to help you. The first thing that can help you is think about what you want to say before you say it. An example is if you have a speech you plan it before you go on stage. Another one is if you need to write a speech, you think about it before you do it. That is one way that it can help. The next way it can help is saying kind words. When you are kind, it can help you get friends. Other people can also be kind to you and respect you. That is another way it can help you. The last way it can help you is make sure that you hear everything before you say it. Make sure that you hear everything before you say anything. That is the last way it can help you. So as you can see, those are the three things that can help you. The first thing that can help you is think about what you want to say before you say it. The next thing that can help you is make sure you say kind things. The last thing that can help you is listen before you talk. Those are the three things that can help you with speech, language and hearing.

The 2021 slogan “Blast Off to Better Speech, Language and Hearing” is saying to blast off or get closer to your goals with speech, language and hearing. My eldest brother was in speech most of his life and as his sister, I did help him a little to “blast off to better speech.” The slogan could also help motivate people to move towards their goals with speech, language and hearing. Overall, the slogan is saying to work hard at your goals.
