Presenter:
Craig Coleman is associate dean of the College of Health Sciences at Pennsylvania Western University. Craig is also the current vice president of planning for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and a board-certified specialist in fluency disorders.

Abstract:
This session will focus on current and future models of learning in higher education and in continuing education/professional development. The first hour will provide an overview of current issues in higher education and with continuing education models. Alternative options will be discussed. The second hour will be a town hall format, where audience members can participate in the discussion and brainstorm ideas for changes to current models of education.

At the completion of this event, attendees will be able to:

  • Describe the current challenges in higher education and professional development.
  • Describe potential new models of education in the field of CSD.
  • Identify ways to improve models of professional development and expand higher education opportunities.
